Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas will be in Strasbourg from Tuesday to Thursday, 25-27 February, to participate in the European Parliament Plenary.
The Education, Youth, Culture and Sport (EYCS) Council of Ministers of the European Union, chaired by Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos, Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, met in Brussels, on 24 February.
Concluding their first 2014 meeting in Sydney, the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors agreed on a global growth target of at least two percentage points over the next five years and reiterated their commitment on initiatives to promote long-term investment, especially in infrastructure and SMEs. Furthermore, they endorsed a global tax transparency standard.
The first Council of Ministers of Education of the European Union, chaired Greek Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos, is taking place today in Brussels.
Upon arriving in Athens from Tirana, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos made the following statement on the agreement reached in Kiev today on the settlement of the Ukraine crisis:
“The agreement reached in Ukraine can provide a peaceful way out of the crisis, avert the repetition of tragic events, and lead to consensus solutions with the participation of all the country’s forces.
